1.1) Jig-free fast build kit (MSA kit)

• The kit is supplied in an advanced state and the builder is not expected to manufacture any parts. On the fast build kits some components are pre-assembled to form near finished. DynAero expects the builder to take about 1000 hours. It may take more or less. It is possible to get the factory to complete a number of the more difficult tasks requiring jigs, and then they can ship you the aircraft.

• With the fast built kit, the following operations are made by the factory: The wing is built up from ribs composite skin and carbon spar all of which are ready made. Flaps and ailerons are made from aluminium skin, carbon pieces, foam ribs and spar. The rudder is assembled from aluminium skin and foam ribs and the tailplane is assembled from aluminium skin foam ribs and carbon spar. The fuselage frames are bonded in place and the fin is completed. These operations involve the use of complicated jigs.
• The remaining operations to be done by the home builder include: Mounting flaps to wings, rudder to fuselage, fuel tank assembly, mounting wing and tailplane wing tips. These operations can be undertaken away from the factory as there is no need for jigs.

• All composite parts are supplied complete requiring trimming fitting and painting only. In general there is no filling required for composite parts except where small faults exist or to cover joints for example across the main fuselage joint.

• Metal parts are supplied fully machined and most are supplied finished (painted or plated for steel parts) ready for fitting.

• Cables are supplied ready to mount and bearings are pressed into place in the appropriate part.

• The fast buit kit is supplied with almost all composite work complete. Requires just one glue cartridge and almost no resin work. Final assembly of mechanical parts, instrumentation, engine etc. required plus painting wiring etc.

2 additional levels of construction are available:

• Mechanical assembly: Above the MSA kit, an even more advanced level of construction is available. It includes: Mounting of all mechanical and control parts, the engine and propeller. Fitting all instrumentation and radio equipment. Adjusting all control and mechanical systems. Interior painting and preparation for exterior painting. All the components that are not included in the MSA kit but necessary for advancing the assembly (engine installation kit, switches, breakers, control stick grip, fuel gauges, upholstery and harnesses etc). • Canopy mounting: Includes the cutting, adjusting and mounting of the canopy onto the airframe. This option is recommended as this operation is difficult. Any mishap and the canopy may be damaged to the extent that it has to be exchanged, which would be a very expensive mistake. SKU: QMTMOATL2. Price: 1,320 Euros.

1.2) Included in the jig-free Fast Build Kit

The kits include the following components:

• Fuselage, wings, tailplane, , wing tips, rudder, flaps, canopy and latches, wing attach brackets, pre-installation for ballistic recovery parachute system.

• Undercarriage, wheels, tyres & brakes.

2.1) Advanced construction

2 additional levels of construction are available:

• Mechanical assembly: Above the MSA kit, an even more advanced level of construction is available. It includes: Mounting of all mechanical and control parts, the engine and propeller. Fitting all instrumentation and radio equipment. Adjusting all control and mechanical systems. Interior painting and preparation for exterior painting. All the components that are not included in the MSA kit but necessary for advancing the assembly (engine installation kit, switches, breakers, control stick grip, fuel gauges, upholstery and harnesses etc). • Canopy mounting: Includes the cutting, adjusting and mounting of the canopy onto the airframe. This option is recommended as this operation is difficult. Any mishap and the canopy may be damaged to the extent that it has to be exchanged, which would be a very expensive mistake. 2.2) Options

• Fuselage and wings: The MSA Kit includes all structural components to build a flying plane from tail to firewall. However, as a kit aircraft, the cabin fitting components are left to the choice of the builder. Elevator and aileron trims are included, but not the controls (i.e control stick grip and trim repeater). Same for the flaps, motor is included but not the control, as the builder may have his own opinion as to which is the best suited control to fit into his aircraft. There is a kit available that includes all the controls, switches, wires, control stick etc.
• Undercarriage: The main Oleo undercarriage includes hydraulic brakes. The standard front landing gear is a strut leg, the spring action is provided by a rubber bungee/shock cord. On the outside it looks like an oleo. As an option it is possible to have an Oleo landing gear on the front as well, this is to provide more comfort on rough grass runways. This option increases the weight by 1.5Kg.
• Front wheel: It is possible to choose between standard small nose wheel and big nose wheel. The big 280mm nose wheel has the same dimensions than the main wheels and is better for grass runways. Thre is no additional cost for this option.
• Foot Brakes: The standard brakes with the 4S are hydraulic brakes, with hand actuators in the central consol. It is possible as an option to have the toe brakes. On the MCR we would advise the hand brakes. This is due to the design of this aircraft, with the seats that are putting the pilot in a reclined position so as to reduce the maximum cross-section and therefore the drag.
• Upholstery: Upholstery is not included in the MSA kit, you can order it separately as an option or get your own design done locally.
• Engine: For the firewall forward part, there are kits made for each model of engine (912S, Jabiru 3300 etc). The choice of engine shall be made prior to ordering as the firewall will be prepared accordingly by the manufacturer. The engine kit can include an entire ready-to-fly set with engine and propeller or just the engine cowlings and engine installation kit with the tuned exhaust silencer. The engine cowling has one access door to check oil level as standard. An additional door to check water level can be added as an option for 80 Euros. This option appears on the TCI MPLPBT0.
• Propeller: There is a range of propellers to chose from, all made specifically for the MCR.
• Instruments: The builder will have to decide on the instruments. DynAero offers a choice of various instrument panels, blank or pre-cut, in aluminium or carbon. DynAero can also deliver the wiring for the instruments, either pre-cut (1,000 Euros) or even pre-wired (3,000 Euros). The instrument panel can also be delivered entirely finished and ready for installation.
• Paint: The painting is a labour intensive job. Preparing the aircraft for painting is a 160 hours job. It is possible as an option to get the painting interior and/or exterior done in factory. It must be pointed out that between an experienced painter and someone who is not used to do aircraft painting, the weight difference is on average 15Kg. That’s 15Kg of useful load taken off the plane just because of carrying extra paint.

2.3) Options recommended by Love4aviation

Based on our experience, we recommend the following options:

• Fuel gauges, as it would take a lot of labour time to use something else. SKU: QOPIN6700. Price: 995 Euros.
• Wing tip lighting plexi covers, as it is a part difficult to build and not too expensive to buy. This part doesn't show in the price list, you have to refer to the TCI OPLPG00 item 6, they cost around 150 Euros for both of them (to be confirmed).
• Shimmy-damper: To reduce possible shimmy when the aircraft is operated mainly from sealed runways. It’s mainly for sealed runways as the pilot usually takes more rolling speed during take-off than when operating from a grass runway where you try to get airborne sooner. The grass runway also absorbs part of the vibrations as it is in soft contact with the wheel as opposed to the sealed runway which is a hard surface so all vibrations generate some shimmy. • Upholstery and harnesses: Upholstered seat covers and 4 point harnesses for all the seats. Cost of the option: 1,255 Euros for the seat covers and 460 Euros for the harnesses.
