Our aircraft tuned exhaust silencers, are designed for a wide range of small aircraft to reduce engine noise whilst improving engine performance.1°) Benefits
2°) OverviewA Better Flying Experience – Quieter, Smoother and More ComfortableImprove pilot comfort and security by reducing the noise level inside your cabin, and reduce pilot exhaustion on long trips – as proved by French Civil Aviation tests. Our silencers are a great answer to noise restrictions and environmental problems around airfields.Increase Engine Lifetime - Get More for Your InvestmentThe tuned exhaust improves engine lifetime by decreasing the operating temperature of the cylinder and head.Actually Increases Engine PerformanceThe silencer/ tuned-exhaust system does not reduce engine power …in fact performance is actually improved as demonstrated by in-flight tests undertaken by the CEV (French national flight test centre). The system reduces fuel consumption and is designed to avoid aerodynamic turbulence.Easy Access for Repair or Replacement of Silencer ComponentsThe silencer unit is easily accessible for quick and thorough inspection, removal, or replacement of worn parts, without any need to retrofit the exhaust and cowling. This reduces aircraft grounding time and maintenance costs. Set-up time is around four hours.Works on all Engine Types and Most Small AircraftThe system fits on all types of engines - atmospheric, turbocharged, petrol and diesel, on almost all types of small aircraft.Proved, Guaranteed Quality and PerformanceThe system is made from high quality durable stainless steel or inconel 625, and is guaranteed for three years or 1500 hours. It is internationally patented and complies with EASA AIR0191 Standard 1TTi1A1, and EASA agreement FR21G0195.The system has been proved by the European STAC (Technical Services of Civil Aviation) to achieve noise reductions: • 9.3 dB(A) for a Cessna 172 • 14.6 dB(A) for a Cessna 152 Note:Every 3 dB(A), the noise is reduced by half. A Foretaste of the new regulationThe DGAC (french CAA) is currently working on a new regulation to manage noise issues around airfields. This project called GENIAL would classify aircraft on the basis of their noise emission in the circuit. Our silencers are setting the benchmark in term of achievable noise reduction. Thus, the manufacturers are deeply involved with the DGAC in the working out of the protocol.3°) DescriptionThe system consists of 3 parts:
Tuned exhaust
SilencerThe silencer's functioning is based on two principles : Diffraction and absorption.
Double Flow silencerThe double flow silencer may be used with various types of aircraft:
