Spacer Rotax 4 stroke
Used with the ROTAX drive lugs ø13mm, the Rotax 4 stroke spacers, avoid shear forces on the spacer to prop shaft bolts. The ROTAX ø13mm drive lugs on the prop shaft (distance between centers ø101.6mm on latest version) engage the spacer and the ø10mm dowels on the spacer engage the prop hub. The M8 fastening screws were selected to take the shear forces on the shank and not the threads.
The 10mm is different to other spacers: It has both 13mm dowels (distance between centers ø101.6mm on latest version) that engage the ROTAX 912 hub and 10mm dowels that engage the prop hub, to avoid shear forces on the spacer to prop shaft bolts.
