3-10 dB noise reduction of noise depending on frequencies. Every 3 dB of reduction you cut the noise by half. You can download the noise measurement chart (Excel 18 Ko) showing the comparison between a DR400 180hp fitted with the inconel tuned exhaust silencer versus the same aircraft with the OEM exhaust.
Specifications
-
This exhaust is designed specifically for the LYCOMING IO-360.
-
The length of each exhaust pipe is 880 mm, that’s the length providing optimal engine performance according to Lycoming’s data (piston course, cylinder diameter, opening and closing of the valves, etc. ...) with the space allowed inside the engine cowling.
Materials
-
The flanges fixing the manifolds are manufactured in 316L stainless steel.
-
The exhaust manifolds and collector are made from 316L stainless steel and Inconel 625 austenitic nickel-chromium-based superalloy, this alloy ensures excellent reliability of the exhaust.
Installation
-
The front landing gears prevents from fixing the silencer in front of the firewall, therefore it is installed below the airframe.
-
An innovative double ball-and-socket joint made from inconel 625 offers absorption of vibrations and motion between the exhaust and the cockpit.
